Off to Kuala Lumpur

Written by lisa on Jun 25th, 2007 | Filed under: beyond baguio, travel / vacation

I know I mentioned before that living in Baguio City is like being on vacation all the time. But since I decided to run a bed & breakfast inn, everybody’s vacation time is when we work the hardest. Personally, I hardly took a day off for about 3 months and was on call 24-hours a day. And it’s during the off season that we in the hospitality industry can take real time off.

A Pine Fellow

Written by lisa on Jun 4th, 2007 | Filed under: baguio

A friend of both my sisters’ was over last weekend — funny, funny man Mel Garrido, who emceed a ritzy wedding reception at the country club. He cracks jokes, deadpan, in the middle of serious conversations. While recounting his sightseeing activities last Saturday, he remarked,

I met three pine trees as I was walking and asked how they were.

The first replied, “I’m pine!”

The next said, “I’m pine, too!”

The last one said, “I’m pine tree!”

Save the Baguio Pine Trees, please sign the Petition to Declare Baguio a Heritage Zone!
