Hiya Katrina,

Baguio is also known as the City of Pines because it used to be filled with pine trees, especially when the Americans 'discovered it' a century ago. They were happy to find a cool place in tropical Philippines, their one colony ever.

But we have been cutting down a lot of pine trees to plant concrete buildings in recent years. What folks should understand is that our forests are directly responsible for the low temperatures in Baguio/

Concrete pine tree will go but in its place, TRAFFIC LIGHTS???? To decongest that area, I suggest one-way going up SM, all vehicles coming from Upper Session Road and Leonard Wood Road go to the street in front of YMCA, if one needs to go back to SM, turn left towards the Cathedral and another left turn in front of the Post Office then you're back on Session Road. Such scheme will probably also open the eyes of the City Administration of the DOUBLE PARKING that happens at the SLU Laboratory Schools-UB area... Come on, children need the WALK! What a waste if you're in Baguio, City of Pines (???) , "Cleanest and Greenest in the Philippines" and not exercise? (Blog on children's books and paraphernalia for school is another matter)

Hi Tina, yes, Sunstar reported a few months ago he was planning to put waterfalls instead. And finally, Midland got itself a website -- it's about time!

Hello, Marie, yup, corny ... but so was Mel! Hahaha.

And when Jesus Christ was asked what he was doing in Baguio (remember, Mother Mary "shows up in Agoo"), he aswered, "I'm just doing PINE."
