For all you guys who will be up in Baguio this Christmas Season, good news!
You are all invited to what promises to be a wonderful evening of classical music with Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz, internationally acclaimed Filipino concert piano artist, performing at the Baguio Country Club Ballroom on 28 December 2007. Be captivated by his music… while helping the worthwhile projects of this concert’s beneficiary, WE CARE Services.
The answer is a resounding NO! I scanned the web for the names and numbers of those who actually died from the disease and found conflicting accounts from 4 to 8 to an exaggerated 25 persons but no names, nothing definite. Then there were reports from our local journalists adding to the scare by reporting large numbers of “suspected” cases. And all for what — so the local government in 2005 could get access to 12,000,000 pesos in calamity funds.
Folks, that was the whole point, don’t you see?
I started this blog with the intention of adding articles and features here instead of at Go Baguio!. What I have been doing is linking up the posts here at the bottom of every page there but somehow, the site visitors tend to stay within the Go Baguio! website instead of moseying on down to over here (I know this because there’s a pretty huge disparity in stats).
