Getting a Home Service Massage in Baguio

Written by lisa on Oct 11th, 2007 | Filed under: baguio, the good life, travel / vacation

Good news for all those living in Baguio, or those coming up in the next few months!

Asian Massage is a great alternative to all the blind masseurs who have heretofore been the only ones offering home service massage. And you no longer have to go to a public place like those ’spas’ at SM City Mall or Session Road.

If you’re a visitor or tourist, you can ask your hotel to give them a call and relax right in the comforts of your own hotel room. And one of the best things about it is that you can go to sleep right after. Now that’s a Baguio vacation!

Asian Massage operates 24 hours a day, so you can call them any time. The rate per hour is currently P275 and I recommend that you get the 2-hour massage that gives you a combination of 4 styles — Shiatsu, Swedish, Reflexology and Thai! You can find their contact details at the Baguio Business Directory.

They even have for sale a slimming oil that you can buy for P350, or ask them to use it on you during your session for just an additional Php100.00.

Disclaimer: I am in no way connected to Asian Massage, nor did I receive any payment for this article. I just happened to get the best massage I have had in Baguio for the past years last night. Raquel was my masseuse and she was great!

hi lisa! this sounds really good. my mom loves massages, so this could be something special i could get her. :)

thanks for the invitation to blogrush :) raking in the readers, yeh!

You’re welcome about BlogRush! Sent one to Lei, too!

I can guarantee the quality of their service — like Dial-a-Massage in Manila, they are brought and picked up by a car service, no matter how late at night, and the girls are quiet and sweet. My guests avail of their service, too.

hahaha. an old-timer spoke to me today and said, ‘pasiyensiya na hija, hindi lang nila alam kung anong dapat gawin.’ I retorted, ‘E bakit sila tumakbo?’

mas mabuti pa si raquel, kumikita ng pera sa marangal na pamamaraan.

    Hi lisa,

I read from your profile that you own 4 vintage cars. Do you have it rented out? I’m getting married on Dec, and I find it very difficult to rent a vintage car in baguio.

kindly reply to my email. thank you
    Cindy

    Hi Cindy,

The jaguar, which we use for weddings needs a hard-to-find part so I will not recommend it. However, I will send you the number of someone in Dagupan, Pangasinan who has dreamy vintage cars for weddings. A lot of those getting married in Baguio rent these classics.

wahhhhhh! I wish it was that affordable here. I need a massage right now. Over here an hour and a half session could easily be $125.

    Hi Tina,

When you visit the Philippines next, make sure you get the works! Massage, hair, nails, etc. When you earn in dollars, this massage comes cheap, but it costs the equivalent of 2 days minimum wage in Baguio.

    Hi Liza!
First off,I must say,”in every respect & aspect, that’s one lovely website you’ve got there!”Well organized, you thought of everything! And oh boy,you are a Baguio lover(I’m a native & I wouldn’t exchange it for any other place in our country)!Way to go!!!
Anyway,I’m leaving in Israel & every now & then when I’m homesick I open websites on Baguio.
Actually I’m coming home with my husband & new baby during the holidays,i mean christmas & new year & other than the list you posted in your site for places to stay,do you,by any chance know of a vacation house for rent?A place that you would recommend? The last time we came home we stayed at the Manor Hotel but my husband would prefer this time somewhere else esp.we’ve got a baby in tow.It would really be helpful if you know of anything, thanks!
The website I listed is actually my husbands’,check it out & tell me what you think…
    All the best,
    Rachel

Hi,Lisa! It’s me again,I forgot to tell you that i’ve got an american cocker spaniel too,her name is maxxi,a very affectionate & beautiful dog & a yorkshire terrier named allexx, they are very sweet together! But knowing you’re a breeder,I’ve got a question for you…other than taking your dogs to the hairdresser everytime there hair grows long, how do you handle their shedding? It’s pretty problematic for me now that I’ve got a baby.
Geez,I’ve been asking too many a question already, hope you don’t mind & that you would answer me back…thanks!

    Hi Lisa,
That’s what I usually do but the last time I was very disappointed by the service from the salon that I went to. It’s owned by someone I know and we already negotiated the price then she left and she called her assistant to say that I should add Php 300 more. $6 is not really that much but it’s the principle behind it that bugged me. After a deal is done, a business person can’t retract, she/he should just eat it. Not only that, my toe got infected and it was swollen on the plane ride back! Good thing it wasn’t serious and a local anti-biotic solved it. But never again will I go back just because the owner is related to us. I was happy 3 years ago but I’m really turned off by what the owner did. I don’t like it when they give me presyong Balikbayan. I like to pay the real price, with tip pa if I’m very happy with the service.

Welcome Rachel, and so re all your questions! All the places I know are listed at the Go Baguio Business Directory, where all Baguio businesses are welcome to sign up for free.

Tina, I’m sorry about your salon. Try the ones at the malls, or Dave Baldemor at Legarda Road (he’s nice and galing), the old-style homey salons are not always professionally run. Or get the works done in Manila first (sorry, Baguio sometimes you provide sub-standard probinsya services).

I tried their spa in Engineer’s Hill today. There are some signs but it’s a bit difficult to find. It’s located in a house and the small entrance has a carinderia right next to it. Marge, my masseuse was okay although I felt tickled in some body parts. She’s a rather tiny lady. The restroom didn’t have toilet paper and the toilet seat and floor were not dry. It’s P250/hour. I had the swedish massage. Next time I’ll try 2-hr combination.

  15. lisa, on November 3rd, 2007 at 8:47 pm Said:

    Hi Sharon!

Their ‘Spa’ behaves more like the living and training quarters for the ladies. I prefer home service. The best for me right now is the 1 & 1/2 hour massage — 1 hour too short, 2 hours a bit too long.

I noticed they’re all tiny yet strong. My current favorite is Del. She’s here from their Manila office until February.

    :)
