GMA Cancels Trip to Baguio

Uh-oh! Now it’s an uncovered plot to assassinate GMA on the occasion of the PMA Alumni Homecoming in Baguio — by Muslims, too. How convenient! Can you believe this? She will cancel a trip that will put her in the midst of all her generals, the ‘best protectors’ of our country, and in high security FORT Del Pilar, no less!

Maybe she should start thinking, if the PMA Alumni will all be in Baguio, who will guard her in Manila?

In the last ‘terrorist threat,’ there was a chik-boom that went poof in a trash can in the Malacanang gardens. Believable?

Then, a little tantrum by Trillanes in a posh Makati hotel that was selected so tanks could fit in the driveway and cause high impact, decisive damage to a beautiful building was the excuse for imposing curfew.

Alam ninyo, lumang tugtugin na iyan! Remember that martial law was imposed by Marcos because there was an alleged assassination attempt on good old Juan Ponce Enrile, then Defense Minister and eventually Butcher of Martial Law, and now Forever Senator. Warning!

  • what’s more believable is the testimony of an abducted repentant bribee that too much was simply too much
  • what’s more believable is that she controls Congress (so much for separation of powers) so that Joe de V, the great dealmaker, who has enjoyed holding the position of Speaker of the House since women were still wearing shoulder pads, was unceremoniously booted out by Palace lackeys in the House of Representatives who said they stood for ‘reforms.’
  • what’s more believable is that she pardoned Manero the Necrophile and Jalosjos the Pedophile so that we wouldn’t be shocked about Erap the Plunderer’s release.

Easy to blame the poor Muslims, too. And if Palace officials took a look at Baguio, they would find many, many, many Muslims here! Can pirated DVDs be used as weapons of midget destruction?

Hay naku, if I’m not mistaken, the Baguio city government simply loves Gloria! She just gave our mayor full control over Burnham Park to do with as he pleases, the only restriction being that Baguio cannot sell Burnham Park without the approval of the Department of Tourism. Yun lang. How hard will it be to get the approval of the Department of Tourism when that time comes that they actualize the current idea in their heads that Burnham Park should be a theme park?

Honestly, isn’t every Philippine President guarded against an assassination plot every minute of everyday anyway?

I bet you P1,000 that if GMA comes up to Baguio she WON’T be assassinated!

Tripped maybe (and could even be self-instigated), but why assassinate when we’re supposed to “Live and Let Live?”

When have we Filipinos assassinated any President ba? It’s only government that unofficially murders and abducts people, calling them extra-judicial killings in the case of the murders and ‘request for state protection’ in the case of abduction para they don’t sound awful.

All the while turning folks immune, cynical and apathetic, convincing them that these shenanigans do not affect their daily lives.

    Weeping…

Filipinos don’t assasinate presidents because of “Ubusan ng angkan”. Then who will be left to run the Philippines?

Besides, do you think that hottie president (Magsaysay) died from a Conspiracy Theory?

Interesting though that GMA is reacting quickly to the discontent of the MAKATI BUSINESS CLUB. Mukhang _ _ _ _ .

How much, I wonder, is her soul worth by now? Perhaps no one dares assasinate a president because of the karma it will bring.

    Marie,

Watch Kevin Bacon’s new movie (D)*e*a*t*h Sentence, how violence begets violence, how everything snowballs out of control. Dom-an’s peaceful approach to violence is oh, so right!

That’s how Filipinos earned the world’s respect in 1986, during the peaceful overthrow of Marcos! I believe now that EDSA2 was an orchestrated and pitiful copy of that once wondrous moment 22 years ago this month. Shame on the Presidents after Marcos who were not true to the spirit of nonviolent action to effect change! Poor Filipinos, had we known then what we know now, maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess. The Filipinos were corrupted, slowly, surely.

But if we unmask Gloria, if we look deep into ourselves, the beautiful and true Filipino spirit will emerge and overcome Gloria. Right now she’s stronger than all of us, but Filipinos are waking up, one Pagasa Workshop at a time…

Is that why there is a new advisory from the US Department of State for the Philippines?

All head of states are candidates for assassination plots and that’s why they are surrounded with armed guards. Doesn’t she have faith on her presidential guards?

Tina, I guess not. Presidential Security Group members are being used by the Palace as glorified security guards for Mike Arroyo’s empty vacation house on Leonard Wood road in Baguio — imagine that!
