Go Baguio! and Baguio Insider
I started this blog with the intention of adding articles and features here instead of at Go Baguio!. What I have been doing is linking up the posts here at the bottom of every page there but somehow, the site visitors tend to stay within the Go Baguio! website instead of moseying on down to over here (I know this because there’s a pretty huge disparity in stats).
Also, as it turns out, Go Baguio! rises in its Yahoo! search engine position everytime I add an “inside” page to it (I know this because I finally got out of page 2 for keyword “Baguio” when I added new pages to it this weekend: Baguio Tour Itineraries and Camp John Hay - Then & Now).
Aside for webmasters: If you’re running a static website, I believe Yahoo wants your index page to remain unchanged for 3 years or something because the one holding the No. 1 spot there was last updated in 2004 (it says so on the home page). And to think I have been editing my home page everyday (which I have to do everytime I add a page to the site)! The one holding the No. 2 spot was a static website that converted to a blog, but I believe that the rule for blogs is a little different: when a new post is published, I think it’s considered an “inside” page.
As for other web tech stuff, please proceed to Chuvatech. It’s where I put all my notes about design and monetization in simple terms, as I discover new things on the web all the time.
So what’s probably going to happen now is that Baguio Insider will become a lifestyle, political, editorial site to complement Go Baguio!, not supplement it. Or maybe I’ll just make it more personal. But if I wanted a personal website, should I have not called it Baguio Angry Dragon instead? Hahaha.

LOL @ Baguio Angry Dragon!
Hi Lisa,
Ah don’t worry too much with the stats. You know your website is so informative and helpful specially for those who want to make the most out of their trip to Baguio. Even as a Baguio native I learn new stuff from the site. I also want to know what’s going on in Baguio from a resident’s point of view.
Why Baguio Angry Dragon?
Hi Chateau & KK,
Baguio Angry Dragon because I like the acronym — BAD — and because much as I try to be serene (that’s why I chose to live here), I am really a fire-breathing dragon in real life! Hahaha.
But honestly, because much as I love this wonderful place called Baguio, the folks here exasperate me. I believe that Baguio at this point is so fragile, that those who merely go on with their lives trying to make a living and are not actively working to preserve her, are actually doing Baguio a lot of harm.
On a lighter note, I wanted to start civic group called We Love Baguio Movement but WLBM will not sound good at all! Hahaha!
wow BAD. hehe.. dont worry about site traffic. it’ll come…
‘On a lighter note, I wanted to start civic group called We Love Baguio Movement but WLBM will not sound good at all! Hahaha!’
-when you do get to organize the civic group, count me in! Let’s come up with a better name (WLBM is like women with LBM, hahaha! Would anyone take us seriously? LOL)
Seriously, I’d like to take part in doing something to preserve the dear city that has given so much to me.
BAD!..may your tribe increase with the WE LOVE BAGUIO MOVEMENT! when you are ready count me in…uhmmmm NOANTS
