Plan a Baguio Wedding

Baguio City is such a favorite wedding venue in the Philippines, that even top Filipino celebrities Aga Mulach and Charlene Gonzales decided to get married here.

Weddings in Baguio are favored by a lot of folk because the Summer Capital combines a lovely natural environment with all the amenities of a city. With the cool Baguio weather, outdoor wedding receptions become a possibility and, if planned well, it need not be expensive get married here either.

As webmaster I get a lot of inquiries online and offline for wedding coordinators, services and supplies.  And although I have extensive catering experience both in Manila and in Baguio, I have to admit that my experience with weddings here has been as a guest mostly.

I have scoured the web and discovered that there is not that one place, that community-driven “one stop shop” for weddings and receptions in the City of Pines, unless one hires a wedding coordinator first thing. But sometimes folks want to see what is possible and what is available before choosing an out-of-town location for their special day before even hiring an event planner, right? And sometimes, they do not know where to even find the wedding planner!

So I have decided to provide folks with a “meet-up” point, a forum of sorts with this post that is designed to give all those who have anything to do with weddings a chance to get listed for free. Couples who are planning to get married in Baguio can have an informal one-stop shop for everything to do with weddings — church weddings and civil weddings and even “commitment ceremonies” — and I would like to ask for the help of all site visitors in making it work.

In other words, this is it — The Baguio Wedding Center! And I am actually pleased with myself for thinking that this site could be even more useful.

Who should submit their information / queries via the comments section:

1. Baguio residents and suppliers from elsewhere are invited to list their names, services and contact information via the comments section below to advertise their wedding and other party services for free. Listing your products and their prices is possible too.

2. Those who are considering Baguio City as a wedding venue may also post their queries and specific needs below so that suppliers can contact you directly.

3. Those who have had experiences getting married or planning a wedding in Baguio City may also post specific tips for those considering Baguio as a wedding venue. (I will not accept those who are plugging venues other than the City of Pines — am telling you now, your comment will be deleted).

4. Those who have specific knowledge of information relating to weddings, such as hours of operations of churches and their contact info, or those who have specific helpful recommendations for matrimonial services. even if you do not have a product or service to sell but are merely a generous soul, please feel free to “add value” to this post.

So, if your fingers are itching to type “Nice service, Lisa” you must still add some useful information for me to be able to approve your comment (e.g. Great post! By the way, the Baguio Cathedral only accepts weddings scheduled at 3pm)

Example of Comments Format:

May I suggest that when you advertise your service or post a query that you state your topic immediately. For example:

Wedding Cakes. Find a wide range of wedding cakes to suit your theme and budget. Email me at / call me at / visit my site at _________.

or

Wedding Coordinator Wanted. I am planning a wedding in Baguio City in May and am looking for an event  coordinator, so please contact me at ____________

Terms of Use:

Please note that this is a highly experimental endeavor, thus:

1. I cannot guarantee how many will actually respond, although I believe it will be beneficial to all concerned to jump right in.

2. Submissions of names and contact information is entirely at your own risk as the information will be visible to all.

3. This site does not warrant that all information submitted by site visitors is true or accurate.

4. I also reserve the right to delete this post eventually if it is abused, or to stop accepting comments thereon, or to move or use the information contained herein to Go Baguio! instead (which is closed to commenting), or to even block the publication of certain comments at my sole discretion. In other words, submission does not guarantee publication, but if you are following this blog, you will see that I have a pretty liberal comments policy and practice (including those that disagree with my opinions but, you see, this post is not a commentary).

5. Any one who emails me henceforth for specific information regarding weddings will be redirected to this post instead, whether or not the information or service desired is contained herein. I receive so many requests and, frankly, it stresses me out when I cannot respond fast enough or please everyone.

  1. What a great idea Lisa! From what I have seen online so far weddings in Baguio for an out-of-town couple is to have a coordinator. The weddings I’ve seen online, I’m estimating that the couples must have shelled out around $5K+(Php250,000) . That kind of budget is only for well-to-do couples however depending on what the couple … ehemmm bride envisions her dream wedding to be… it can be done on a trimmed down budget as long as they are willing to trim some stuff down.

Please email me packages for the following reception venues (dinner buffet or sit down, french/italian): 1. john hay clubhouse 2. baguio country forbes ballroom. Church options and rates, florist (red roses), bakers for the cakes and favors, bridal car rental (vintage), bride and groom accommodation for 2-3 nights (manor, etc) fireworks (10 mins max). Music: boys church choir, string quartet and band/dj for reception. Good for 100 guests. We will be getting some resources here in Manila – suggestions are welcome(photo/vid, entourage attire and invites, wine, hair and make up, etc). We are looking at an elegant, intimate wedding, with good food and close-knit friends and family. We already have an idea of what we want, but will keep an open mind for suggestions. We were married in a civil ceremony and based in Manila. The date is also gonna be our 2nd wedding anniversary. You may reach me at ivytj@yahoo.com. Thanks to Lisa and all the suppliers who may respond to this shout out.

I am in the process of gathering information about cost living in Baguio as a student, so far the information from different sources are at very high variance. As an example someone has calculated 100,000 PHP while I have received estimate of 900,000 PHP per annum for housing, food, transport, and utilities all together. I appreciate any hints on some realistic cost of living in average student level in Baguio. my e-mail : vosoughi111@yahoo.co.uk
    Many thanks in advance

I’m now based in NYC but decided to have my church wedding in Baguio City (because I grew up there and it remains close to my heart). My suppliers have been great, I chose the smaller startup enterprises (Jason Magbanua, Efren Bacawat, Waffy Casem, Michelle Ibag, Leia Castro) instead of the older and bigger wedding-related shops. I like the personalized attention to detail by these younger entrepreneurs. It’s also good to encourage young talents. The only old things at my wedding are the St. Joseph church and the Baguio Country Club. Lol. Im excited, the wedding is in 15 days.
