Twitter Baguio

I found an easy way to allow folks who are interested in everything that is happening in Baguio City to get the quickest updates — TWITTER.

Twitter is a microblogging platform that allows folks to post snippets of about 160 characters or less about what they are doing. Compared to writing an article for a blog, Twitter is so much faster. Of course the twits are not as in-depth as a blog post, and of course discussions in a blog like Baguio Insider are livelier, but for those of you who want to know what’s happening in the City of Pines in real time, Twitter is highly recommended.

With Twitter, you can also find friends, see what they are up to and socialize if you want. When you sign up for an account, you can also post your own snippets or what they call twits and have others follow you. Twitter has many other uses but let me tell you how I plan to use this service for your benefit:

1. Every time I read anything about Baguio City in the news, like an event or an issue, I will post it there (like the complaints of Benguet at how Lepanto Mining Corporation is dumping Metro Manila waste in the mines that I read about at Midland today);

2. Every time I hear something of happening in the Summer Capital, especially if it is not yet in the news (like the dumping of filling materials allowed by a certain barangay captain in a park that is managed by a foundation so that the foundation will lose jurisdiction over the park and the barangay captain can eventually use that free public land for commercial activities), I will post it there;

3. When I publish an article at Baguio Insider and Go Baguio, or update a page with fresh and new information, I will Twitter it;

4. Every time I find a money-making idea that works, or that I am exploring, that you can benefit from or copy, I will post it there (yup I am that generous — making money is not a mutually exclusive thing in my book — we can all get rich together);

5. When I find a nice dish or restaurant, that I do not feel like making a full feature for yet, I will Twitter it;

6. When I find a good buy (or a bad buy), I will tell you about it at Twitter;

7. When someone needs a service that local residents can provide (like when I get an email requesting for a tutor or a wedding events planner) I will let you know about it there;

8. When I want to throw thoughts at the collective intelligence of the universe (like how I feel we should convert all jails in the Philippines into formal and finishing schools for the inmates if we really are into rehabilitation not retribution), it goes on Twitter.

In other words, Twitter Baguio is going to be exciting, short & sweet. Baguio Insider will still go in depth, and Go Baguio! will strive to be, as usual, Your Complete Guide to Baguio City, Philippines.

I promise not to say, “I woke up, ate breakfast, walked the dogs.”

Follow me, writing about Baguio, on Twitter today. It’s free and fun. Signing up is easy and painless (just click the button below).

    Hiya Pok,

    It’s creativenative(at)gmail(dot)com. Been researching how to best market your site online and, offhand, I suggest you take a look at Nuffnang Philippines.
