    thanks grace,

sending you details right now to your email address on record. :)

This is an interesting development. This should actually be done in all the political/geographical units of the country. However, it is much better if a TOT is doe to multiply the effect of the training. This way people’s awareness and eventual participation in the whole issue of governance will increase and become a way of life. We must put a stop at the situation where the politicians alone are deciding and the direction of the nation’s development which most of the time,is mainly oriented towards the attainment of their own personal desires and goals.

    Hi Newways,

Actually the Baguio intake is the first regional workshop. It has started for the Philippines. And I am, of course, hoping that the workshop participants will be able to echo their experience to others, to their families and friends.

    Hello Baguio Lovers,

If you have wondered what the “butterfly effect” means in the realm of quantum mechanics and why your action or inaction can affect life in isolated Antarctica, this workshop is for you.

Individual participants have started their personal initiatives within their reach all over the country and Baguio is the first stop for regional workshops.

Similar workshops to effect the change we want are happening all over the world and initiatives to address local issues have started to snowball. It is a global phenomena that has come of age and we are privileged to have a world renowned Filipino at the forefront of this movement.

It is best to douse a fire when all it takes is a bucket rather than wait and it will require truckloads to put it out.

Let us close ranks now and welcome Baguio’s rebirth.

    Mike

    Count me in, Lisa!

  7. Elaine, on January 31st, 2008 at 7:55 pm Said:

Hello Lisa, I won’t be a participant :( since I’ll be up by the end of the month. I’m sure you’ll be generous to share the minutes of the seminar to people like me(who has left her heart in Baguio, heehee)and to other readers as well. May there be more concerned, vigilant people like you and be able to make Baguio the paradise it used to be.

  8. lisa, on January 31st, 2008 at 8:37 pm Said:

That’s great, Marie! Knew we could count on you.

And yes of course, Elaine. I wouldn’t be able to keep my mouth shut anyway! Hahaha!

What’s funny folks, is that although I have approached some Baguio ‘oldtimers’ for this workshop, a lot of those who have expressed interest are those who are not ‘Baguio born.’ Hmmm…

Could it be that migrants to Baguio love Baguio more?

Lisa, good luck with the workshop. Wish I could be there.

From my experience, the ones who love Baguio the most are the ones who have lived somewhere else before … or those who lived in Baguio then moved somewhere else. Sometimes you have to leave to appreciate what you had. You can’t really appreciate the inherent uniqueness and beauty Baguio has if you don’t experience what the rest of the world offers.

Hopefully soon, when we talk about the beauty of Baguio we’ll be talking in the present tense.

    Good luck!!!

That’s really good news! I hope you will have a good turn-out Lisa!

I was able to really appreciate Baguio when I left! Sayang I can’t be there.

  12. Ross, on February 5th, 2008 at 1:53 pm Said:

Hope you have a successful seminar for a better Baguio. Hope it will teach and drive the people into action. FYI, a GMA show, I-witness will feature Baguio and its garbage problem in an episode tonight entitled “Landfill”. Maybe it will be an eyeopener to all esp. people living in Baguio.

Every heterogenous society will have differing opinions and perceptions in extreme degrees of polarity that can bring about conflict.

This workshop is about making sense of the apparent chaos surrounding us and finding the order within it. It is about appreciating our differences without coming into conflict but rather weaving a harmonious growing society with no one left out.

The workshop is one of many gatherings happening simultaneously all over the world. Let us harness the power of this global field of consciousness and find the solution to our perennial problems that have taunted each one and isolated us from each other.

No matter what your stand is, let us come together for the sake of our beloved city and the generations that will inhabit whatever it is that we create.

See you all on Saturday and Sunday.

I emailed you back. Sign me up for the workshop.

  15. voltaire acosta, on February 16th, 2008 at 9:34 am Said:

hi, received the invitation and was in conflict with a prior schedule in Cebu. Today i heard that it did not push through. Let me know when the workshop will be reset and i pray that my schedules will be free. Praying for baguio and its people especially it’s leaders.

  16. lisa, on February 17th, 2008 at 10:22 pm Said:

    Hi Voltaire,

We are doing our best to get Nicanor Perlas and his PAGASA Workshop team back up to Baguio as soon as possible. Having been fortunate enough to participate in the first one, I can assure you that this will be the best thing (after finding God) that will ever happen in your life!

It will also for sure help the Lova Baguio, Leave Baguio movement!

    :)

  17. Marie, on February 17th, 2008 at 10:44 pm Said:

Love Baguio, Live Baguio, or WHOEVER YOU ARE, LEAVE BAGUIO! See you, Lisa!
